Arianna Cabrera de Oňa currently holds the position of Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief People Officer for Costa Farms, one of the largest ornamental houseplant growers in the world. In her role as General Counsel, Arianna oversees critical facets of the company’s legal landscape, including acquisitions, litigation, employment practices, intellectual property, transportation, real estate, and general corporate legal matters. Simultaneously, as the Chief People Officer, she spearheads talent acquisition, talent management, learning and development, compensation and benefits, compliance, the cultivation of a positive work culture, and employee relations.

A pivotal figure in Costa Farm’s growth, Arianna played a key role in navigating the company through more than 10 major acquisitions, earning her a place on the Executive Committee, which she has held since its inception. Beyond her corporate responsibilities, she is an active leader on the AmericanHort advocacy committee, advocating for industry interests. Arianna has been vocal in advocating for changes to the rules governing the H2A guest worker program and in opposing Miami-Dade country heat illness prevention regulations that are duplicative to OSHA regulations, garnering recent attention and citations in the Wall Street Journal, Miami Herald, and Washington Post.

A devoted participant in AmericanHort’s Impact Washington Summit, Arianna engages with Florida members of Congress in the nation’s Capital on issues facing our industry. Before joining Costa Farms, she practiced law at Akerman Senterfitt’s Miami office, specializing in Corporate Tax. Her expertise included mergers and acquisitions, private equity funding, SEC compliance, employment and compensation matters, and international tax planning.

Arianna, a mother of three young adults, was born in Connecticut and raised in Miami. Graduating with honors from the University of Miami as Valedictorian, she earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting. Furthering her academic achievements, she obtained her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, solidifying her as a distinguished professional in both law and business.

Join us to learn about Arianna’s perspectives on industry dynamics, the art of cultivating company culture, and the principles of servant leadership.
